After talking with everyone about the potential of this car I finally decide to but down the money and buy the car from David. the big sell for me was the Pontiac 455 that came with it. Also a plus is that the builder of the engine is in my backyard. Lee Atkinson built this beautiful beast with the following goodies.
Engine complete from Pan to Carb including:
455 Block and Crankshaft, fully machined and balanced Forged Pistons, resized factory rods, ARP rod bolts, and moly rings, Competition cams
280AH camshaft with Rhoads lifters and Harland Sharp 1.65 roller rockers.
SD Performance heads ~ 9.4:1 compression
Holley 750 Double Pumper Carb
Edelbrock Torker II intake manifold, Mallory Unilite Distributor
complete rebuild of the front and rear suspension. Starting with a strip and repaint of the front frame. They did allot of great work including taking out the rusted floor pans and POR15 in some new ones. New poly suspension kit,David and his brother had done allot of work already. Mainly tearing down the body and new coils, new multi leaf rear springs, body mounts, and the subframe coated in Por15. Brake lines were all replaced.
So I asked my friend Brett to help me out on Saturday. He asked 'How long you need help?' And I of course said we just need to pickup a trailer and head out to get the car. I didn't really tell him that I needed to load a engine hoist in the back of the truck. Or go get another friends trailer. Or unload a car off that trailer before hitching it up. Or traveling an hour cross town to pick up a car with the entire front end disassembled, and engine sitting outside of it. Needless to say we didn't make it home at 12:00. To be fair he made it a point to complain all day, moan about hunger pains and how much trouble that I am. When it was all said and done I got the car in garage that day and he got a great steak dinner out of the deal.
